Mindfulness

Learning abouty mindfulness is easier in a nature setting as there is much to be fascinated by that not only engages the sesnses but provides soft focus sources. 

Mindfulness is a training for the mind and we use nature within a woodland to enhance awareness of the present moment,  engaging with serenity and natural flow that can inform effective mindfulness practice.

 

There was something about the session that made for pure happiness. The chiffchaff singing. The chatter of fieldfares on their migration. The smell of the wild garlic. The smokey fire. Sunshine unexpectedly.

Mindfulness practice helps stimulate awareness, of body, mind and environment and delivers greater ability to focus on the ‘now’ and not be consumed by thoughts associated with what’s happend in the past or might happen in the future.  

Practicing mindfulness in a woodland delivers valuable insight into the fact that nature is itself infused by mindfulness, from which there is much to be learned, if we only open ourselves up to see it.

There is inherent wisdom in nature and practicing mindfulness in a nature setting can teach much about cultivating acceptance and harmony, which in time can deliver tangible wellbeing benefits.

FAQ

What happens if the weather is wet?

We have several places available for being out of the rain, but actually spending time in the rain delivers a feast for the senses.

What happens if the weather is windy?

If the wind is considered to be a threat to health and safety then the session will be rearranged. 

Is the woodland suitable for wheelchair users

Although essentially a wild wood we do have access suitable for wheelchairs to some areas. We will try our best to facilitate everyone’s needs through having a conversation prior to booking.

What is the cancellation period for sessions

We will accept a booking cancellation up to 14 days before a session, to allow us to try to fill the place and not lose out financially.

Can I visit the woodland before I book to see if it is suitable for my needs

Yes, this can be arranged.
